Should I buy DJI Mini 2?
The DJI Mini 2 comes with a sub 249g body , a foldable design, 4K UHD video at up to 30fps & a higher 100Mbps bitrate, RAW photos capture, OcuSync 2.0 transmission system and a variety of pre-programmed movements and modes. What a delight this drone really is. Fragile body packed with features that will help pros get their job done.
This drone gets even more impressive when you throw in 3-axis stabilized camera with 12MP photos and 30 minutes flight time.
This drone is basically all about weight. What about it? You may ask. Being a sub 250 gram makes it eligible for flights without registration and license in many countries. Oh, and did mention portability that comes with it. Pack it anywhere, take it with you on those hikes and long trips and you never know when it will come in handy. It will pretty much fit on your arm when folded properly.
Ok let us look at its ability to take photos and videos first. The CMOS image sensor has 12MP (4000×3000) resolution & 1/2.3″ size. Here is the details of frame rate and the video resolutions.
4K UHD (3840×2160) at 24/25/30 fps
2.7K (2720×1530) at 24/25/30 fps
FHD (1920×1080) at 24/25/30/48/50/60 fps
It can capture in JPEG and RAW. It flaunts f/2.8 aperture with a 24mm focal length.
All this means some crisp pictures and some impressive drone footage which is incredible at this decent price point.
It has built-in GPS but not as many sensors. DJI seems to have made this drone deliberate light and weight comes at the cost of features.
If you were thinking it is a toy, then think again. It will certainly surprise you. I took it out on a sunny calm day and had fun without any issues. Initially, my thought was that it will struggle against the mild wind as well but that turned out to be just fine. It took some amazing shots even with usual early afternoon winds.
I had to be careful though as I felt it more likely go out of control as compared to some heavyweights like the Phantom 4 pro. I really missed the come to the home button on it.
Another major issue for me was the use of my phone with the controller. It drains and trust me when I say it, drains fast. So, when you charge the drone battery then make sure your phone is fully charged.
Overall, I felt this is capable done that limited by only your imagination. It is more of a calm outdoors type of drone that will find a quiet corner in your backpack.
If you want to buy it then buy the fly more combo that will bring you more stuff especially batteries as the name implied. Here is the link to buy it https://dealjingo.com/…/dji-mini-2-with-the-fly-more…/
